His Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex met with business leaders, entrepreneurs and apprentices from across Oxfordshire at a special virtual meeting aimed at highlighting how the county is leading the way in global innovation.
The Earl spoke with Atherton Mutombwera, the CEO of Hutano Diagnostics, one of Oxfordshire's leading entrepreneurs. Hutano Diagnostics joined the BioEscalator in May 2019. The company is developing a disease diagnostic and surveillance platform for quick disease diagnosis, tracking, and outbreak spread prediction of emerging and dangerous pathogens (EDP), which are infectious and recurring in the African region.
I would like to thank His Royal Highness, the Earl of Wessex for making time for the visit to Oxford as well as OxLEP for arranging the event and inviting us. The opportunity not only provided a snapshot of the Oxford ecosystem from COVID vaccine development to quantum computing but also provided lessons on how the other participants grew their ventures and how their different actions feed into the UK and the broader economy.
