Bushra has been an integral part of the BioEscalator Team during her two-year apprenticeship. Working closely with our Laboratory Manager, Khwaja Islam, she has done a remarkable job of assisting the management of the BioEscalator’s shared laboratory facilities to support our resident companies. Whether it has been providing training on laboratory equipment, running the autoclave, or general maintenance, Bushra has always approached her work with professionalism and enthusiasm. Even while balancing everyday duties with completing her coursework, Bushra has gone out of her way to support the team, helping out with extra tasks such as assisting in events and covering reception.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, Bushra was involved in compiling and implementing new policies and procedures for the BioEscalator to make sure government guidelines are adhered to. This has enabled the BioEscalator to remain open throughout the pandemic, allowing our companies to continue to progress their work during lockdown.
In September, Bushra will be moving on from the BioEscalator to start her new journey at Brunel University London studying for a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. We are all very sad to see her go but wish her the very best of luck in her new adventure.
