Job description

MedimabBio is seeking a highly-motivated Research Lab Assistant/Technician to assist with general lab maintenance, cell-based assays, and operation of lab-scale bioreactors and downstream processing equipment.

This is a great opportunity to work in a young and exciting start-up while gaining experience in the biotherapeutic field.

As a junior scientist, you will have completed a degree in Immunology or a relevant biological subject, and have a strong understanding of T cell and/or tumour biology.  You will be self-motivated, technically competent and have the ability to communicate results clearly and logically.  In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining lab stocks and helping with cell culture and immunological assays.  As a small, growing team, it is important that you will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, that you can work effectively with others, and that you are highly responsible and capable of working independently in a laboratory.  Previous experience of sterile cell culture techniques, and performing immunological assays, would be advantageous, but not required.

In return, you will be trained in a broad range of immunological assays, work on cutting edge biotherapies, and have the opportunity to grow with the company.

- To file data daily and maintain organised lab records



Required experience and skills


- Degree in Immunology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or related field


- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel


Desirable experience and skills


- Cell-culture techniques

- Knowledge of flow cytometry

- PBMC isolation

- +1 year relevant experience in a lab setting (academia or industry) would be a bonus
