Kyttaro seeks an outstanding, highly driven and top-performing (Senior) Structural Biologist with experience in peptide / protein-based therapeutics to support Kyttaro’s anti-inflammatory drug discovery platform technology program. The successful candidate will 1) support the set-up of a computational dry lab at the Oxford BioEscalator 2) identify and advance novel peptide drug combinations using available functional wet-lab data and computational predictions of protein-peptide interactions 3) work closely with cellular, and molecular biologists, as well as immunologists, medicinal chemists and biochemical researchers in a multi-disciplinary environment to create novel biologic compounds with therapeutic and diagnostic application in inflammatory diseases. The individual should be able to lead his / her areas of responsibility, develop novel techniques, collaborate with the broader team and communicate results across disciplines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and work with leading scientists and business leaders from premier institutions and to help translate emerging therapeutic ideas into reality.



  • Support the set-up of a computational dry lab
  • Identify and advance peptide combinations as a part of the development of our technology platform
  • Coordinate experiments (either internally or externally) to predict protein-peptide interactions
  • Develop appropriate project-related strategies and monitor progress
  • Review and analyze designs and associated functional wet-lab and structural computational data to optimize peptide therapeutics
  • Support the analysis of phage-display+next generation sequencing as well as high-throughput functional wet-lab data
  • Identify suitable computational approaches and develop scripts for peptide design and characterisation in collaboration with other team members
  • Conduct and/or meticulously supervise experiments and analyse and interpret the data
  • Manage projects from initiation to launch, while balancing multiple project assignments
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate closely with academic partners and/or contract research organisations
  • Write reports and present findings to colleagues



  • PhD with 1 - 2 years of experience in a relevant field including structural biology and protein chemistry
  • Mature and broad skills related to biophysical prediction and landscaping of peptides including confirmation, charge, flexibility, length and sequence
  • Experience with analyzing experimental data used to characterize protein/peptide structures and protein-protein interactions (e.g., NMR, crystallography, SPR, Mass spectrometry)  
  • Expertise with molecular modelling (e.g. Rosetta, BioLuminate, MOE, OpenMM, Modeller) and visualization software (e.g. Chimera, PyMol, VMD)
  • Experience in programming (e.g., R, Python) and the computational analysis of protein structures (including experience with relevant biological data formats and protein databases)
  • Ability to independently design, execute and interpret scientific experiments
  • Excellent supervising and management skill
  • Experience leading scientific research projects/teams
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects
  • Strong team player with excitement for new challenges and ability to deal with flexibility



  • +5 years of experience as a postdoc/scientist in an academic or industry laboratory
  • Experience in the computational design of peptide/protein therapeutics and/or computational analysis of protein-peptide interactions
  • Experience creating and optimizing designs of therapeutic peptide/proteins that can bind or inhibit the function of a target
  • Good knowledge related to protein/peptide drug discovery
  • Experience with machine learning techniques related to the analysis and design of peptides/proteins
