The BioEscalator brought together its community of scientists, entrepreneurs, partners, and supporters to celebrate its 5th birthday. The anniversary event served as a platform to commemorate the remarkable achievements and innovations from BioEscalator resident and graduated companies since its inception.
Over the past half-decade, the BioEscalator has supported exceptional growth, welcomed brilliant minds, and enabled cutting-edge discoveries within its nurturing environment. Guests heard a few of these success stories after the inspiring keynotes from Professor Matthew Wood and Professor Sir John Bell on the BioEscalator's accomplishments and the future of life sciences in the UK.
In its five-year journey, the BioEscalator has made significant contributions to the landscape of life sciences. Some key achievements include:
- £1.6B total attracted investment to resident companies
- 36 new companies
- 300+ jobs created
- 12 companies graduated
- 4 companies successfully exited
- 160 events reaching 3000+ people
There are many advantages of locating Alethiomics in the BioEscalator, close to our academic research labs, where the staff can benefit from access to world-leading core facilities in the neighbouring academic institutes. The benefits work both ways - interaction between our academic groups and the company also offers insights and experience to university researchers interested in potentially transitioning to industry in the future.
