About LEAF
LEAF is a scheme to enhance laboratory efficiency that encompasses crucial areas contributing to laboratory efficiency and sustainability, including equipment management, space utilisation, ventilation systems, procurement processes, waste management, and handling samples and chemicals. By evaluating and optimising these aspects, laboratories and research institutions can significantly reduce their environmental impact and foster a culture of sustainability. The framework recognises and acknowledges the remarkable efforts of teams in labs, colleges, and departments at the University of Oxford while providing a structured approach for planning future steps.
