Prof. Keith Channon


British Heart Foundation Field Marshal Earl Alexander Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Deputy Head of Medical Sciences Division (Research), University of Oxford, NIHR Emeritus Investigator and Chair of the NIHR-BHF Cardiovascular Partnership.

Keith trained in cardiology in Manchester, Oxford and Duke University before returned to Oxford in 2000.  He is Director of Research & Development and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  He is a Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford, Executive of Oxford’s British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence, and previously served as Director of the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre during 2008-2018.

Other roles include Director of the Academic Health Partnership since 2019, which focuses on research, education, healthcare and innovation with the overriding aim of improving patient care.
