Good Governance: Forming & Managing A Board
Richard Kennell, Founder & CEO - SOFEA
Thursday, 13 May 2021, 9.30am to 11am
This workshop will explore the benefits of having a board, and the practical steps you need to take to achieving good governance.
Having a strong board of trustees or directors can be fundamental for determining the overall direction, effectiveness and accountability of a social impact organisation, whether you are a charity or private enterprise.
Facilitated by Richard Kennell, CEO of the award-winning charity, SOFEA, he will relate SOFEA’s journey in terms of building an effective board and you will also hear personal reflections from some of the charity’s trustees. Richard founded SOFEA in 2014, having run a small business for the previous 8 years. He has a background in local schools as a former Deputy Headteacher. He is a member of a number of local groups including the Charity Leaders’ Forum and the Oxfordshire Skills Board.
