We’re delighted to welcome two science heavyweights to the Oxford Science Enterprises Board. Decorated bionanoscientist Professor Dame Molly Stevens and Professor Richard Hobbs have joined the Board as Non-Executive Directors.
Professor Dame Molly Stevens joins the Board as a Non-Executive Director and University representative. Molly is the John Black Professor of Bionanoscience at the University of Oxford. She is based in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, and is Deputy Director of the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery.
Molly has founded several spinout companies from her own research in biomaterials for diagnostics and regenerative medicine, so she brings exceptional insight into science-led entrepreneurship, innovation and the university ecosystem.
Professor Richard Hobbs has joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Richard is Director of the Oxford Institute of Digital Health and previously served as Head of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (2011–24) and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (2020–25).
During his leadership, the department grew into one of the largest and most highly ranked centres for academic primary care in the world. A leading authority on cardiovascular disease prevention and management, Richard brings deep expertise in translational research, digital health and healthcare innovation.
Both appointments bring invaluable experience to OSE as we continue to support the translation of world-class research into world-beating companies. We’re happy to be working with both Molly and Richard in their new roles.
In separate OSE Board news, Simon Boddie stepped down from the Board as a Non-Executive Director at the end of 2025, and was replaced by Molly Stevens. Simon joined the Board as a University representative in late 2021 and has contributed hugely to the Board of OSE, including through his strong chairmanship of the Audit Committee for the past four years.
Throughout his time with OSE, Simon provided thoughtful leadership, sound counsel and trusted guidance to the team. We would like to thank Simon for his significant contribution and commitment to OSE.
