Academic and innovation champion

Professor Heidi Johansen-Berg is an expert in brain imaging, neuroplasticity, learning and recovery and an academic leader at the interface of laboratory neuroscience and human health. As Associate Head of Medical Sciences Division, she is a champion for research and innovation, providing strategic leadership and support in these areas.

 

She is a Wellcome Principal Research Fellow and member of the Oxford University Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging, where she heads up the Plasticity Group. This multidisciplinary research group utilises advanced brain imaging techniques to monitor brain changes and aims to develop new approaches to facilitate learning, recovery, and healthy brain development and ageing.

 

In her role as Pro-Vice Chancellor, she leads cross-functional strategic initiatives that drive transformation within the University.
