Managing sleep and insomnia workshop
Sleep is an essential, biologically motivated behaviour vital to good mental and physical health. However, lack of sleep, or insomnia, is a common and distressing problem. This psychoeducational workshop will explore the importance of sleep and the common habits and behaviours that can interfere with good sleep. Using a cognitive behavioural approach, you will learn strategies and techniques that help overcome common sleep problems, increasing the potential for a good night’s sleep.
About the speaker
Ruth is a Chartered Psychologist with a special interest in sleep and insomnia. She is the Staff Mental-Health Training Coordinator for the University, as well as a counsellor, clinical supervisor, and research tutor. Ruth has experience of working in a wide range of clinical settings, including the NHS and runs her own private practice.
