OBN Digital Briefing: An Insight into the National Security and Investment Bill
Thursday, 17 December 2020, 10am to 11am
The briefing will be presented by Paolo Palmigiano, Head of UK and EU Competition at Taylor Wessing, who will outline what this bill means to life sciences companies in the UK and will be followed by time for audience questions.
The government has put forward it's National Security and Investment Bill to ensure that the government has the necessary powers to scrutinise and intervene in business transactions, such as takeovers and investments that might raise national security issues, while providing businesses and investors with the certainty and transparency they need to do business in the UK. The new law (and the ongoing consultation on the definition of the sectors that will require mandatory notification) is extremely wide and will have far-reaching consequences for the life sciences industry in the UK.
