What started out as an initiative to embed AstraZeneca into Cambridge's ecosystem has turned into a Science and Business Mentoring programme, AstraZeneca Exchange, which has now been launched at the University of Oxford. So far four BioEscalator tenants who will benefit from this valuable scheme have been named - Infinitopes, Spectre Bio, Granza Bio and ISOgenix Limited.

Part of the first cohort of projects, the four companies will engage with AstraZeneca mentors on specific business growth challenges, whether related to business development, scientific translation, or strategic planning. This kind of goal-orientated support has proved invaluable for biomedical companies involved in AstraZeneca Exchange elsewhere.

The BioEscalator was delighted to welcome the Chair of AstraZeneca UK, Shaun Grady, and colleagues to the recent launch event. Their commitment to the programme was clear and with our partners Enspire Oxford and Oxford University Innovation we’re excited to see what the outcomes are.

Our tenants are not the only ones benefiting - there are many positives for AstraZeneca as well, including extra understanding of trends in global science-led innovation and the opportunity to work collaboratively with early innovators.

“This move deepens our commitment to supporting life sciences start-ups and entrepreneurs across the UK, helping them navigate the life sciences ecosystem through dedicated mentorship. I am delighted to welcome a new group of young founders, Infinitopes, Spectre Bio, Granza Bio and ISOgenix Limited, into the programme. By connecting early-stage founders with experienced mentors, we hope to help accelerate the development of new ideas that could one day transform healthcare.” Shaun Grady, Chair of AstraZeneca UK
