Professor Matthew Wood specialises in RNA-based therapeutics for neuromuscular diseases. His work has advanced the development of next-generation antisense oligonucleotides for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and related conditions.

He also works to create novel drug delivery systems, including peptide and exosome-based technologies, designed for the targeted transport of biologics to critical tissues such as the brain.

As a co-founder of successful biotech spin-outs, including Evox Therapeutics and PepGen, Professor Wood has demonstrated a solid ability to translate groundbreaking research into practical therapeutic solutions. His leadership roles within research funding bodies further highlight his influence in the field of biomedical science.
