Since joining us in 2022 with the backing of £6M in seed funding from Oxford Science Enterprises, Alethiomics has become a valued part of our community, contributing to the vibrant, collaborative spirit that makes the BioEscalator such a special place.
As Research Scientist Ana Carolina Borges summed it up:
“The BioEscalator is more than just an innovation centre, it’s a true community. We are grateful for the time spent here and for the chance to work alongside such bright and inspiring people.”
During their time here, Alethiomics made their mark in many ways, both in and out of the lab. Some highlights include:
- LEAF Bronze Award – Recognised at the Vice Chancellor’s Environmental Sustainability Awards 2023 for their commitment to laboratory efficiency and sustainability.
- Best Scientific Explanation, BioEscalator Pitch Battle 2023 – Celebrated for their clear and engaging communication of complex science.
- Leadership Recognition – Co-founder Professor Bethan Psaila joined the BioEscalator Management Board.
Although we’ll miss seeing them in the corridors and at community events, we’re excited to watch Alethiomics continue their journey at Abingdon Science Park. They leave the BioEscalator with significant momentum, ready to take their next steps in the fight against blood cancers.
